MicroPeel
What is a MicroPeel?
The Biomedic MicroPeel is a three-step superficial facial peel that takes half an hour to perform and has no downtime. It begins with dermaplaning, which uses a Teflon coated instrument to precisely exfoliate your skin. A light acid peel completes the exfoliation and soothing cryotherapy reduces inflammation. A custom blend of vitamins and antioxidants is gently massaged into your skin and sun protection is applied.
What are the benefits?
A MicroPeel improves skin texture and tone. It stimulates collagen production to make the lower layers of skin firmer, reducing the appearance of fine lines and acne scars. This treatment improves acne and milia, regulates oil production, and reduces actinic keratosis (precancerous cells).
How many treatments do you need?
This varies depending on the severity of the skin condition you want to improve. A single treatment can give you that polished look for a special occasion. Maintenance treatments to keep your skin looking its best should occur at four week intervals.
Things you should know.
There is no downtime but you may appear flushed for 15-30 minutes after the treatment. At the treatment site, a MicroPeel can activate an existing herpes condition and may aggravate Rosacea or dilated capillaries (telangiectasia). This treatment should not be performed if you have taken Accutane within the past twelve months and you should avoid the use of RetinA, Renova, or glycolic acids within three days before or after the treatment.
How much time is required?
30 minutes.
How much does it cost?
$65 each, $175 for a package of three (~10% discount), $315 for a package of six (~20% discount).
