Permanent Cosmetics

What are Permanent Cosmetics?

Permanent Cosmetic procedures insert natural, hypoallergenic, FDA approved pigments into the dermis that appear as perfectly applied makeup. Other names for permanent cosmetics include permanent makeup, dermapigmentation, micropigmentation, and cosmetic tattooing.

Permanent Cosmetics do not wash off and they last forever - they will fade over time but never completely disappear. However, some will fade more quickly than others depending on skin type and color, exposure to chlorine, salt water, sun, or tanning beds, and illnesses or medications.

The "Softap" hand method applies micro insertions of natural, hypoallergenic pigments that are specifically designed for the face into the dermal layer of the skin. This procedure is completely safe and a topical anesthetic is used to numb the area.

Some minor discomfort may be experienced but we take the utmost care to provide for your comfort. All instruments are sterilized. Surgical gloves and disposable instruments are used to ensure your complete safety.

How many appointments do you need?

The fees for Permanent Cosmetics include a first and second application. Second applications are performed five to eight weeks after the first application and are designed to touch up the first application for that perfect look. It is the clients responsibility to schedule and keep the followup appointment. If not completed within eight weeks, the followup appointment will be considered a new procedure and charged accordingly.

Things you should know.

Permanent makeup may have complications, such as allergies to the pigments, formation of scars, granulomas and keloids, skin cracking, peeling, blistering, and local infection. We sterilize all instruments and we use surgical gloves and disposable instruments to ensure your complete safety. While allergic reactions to the pigments are rare, we offer a skin patch test at no charge. This test should be performed four to six weeks prior to your permanent cosmetic procedure to ensure the best possible results.

Permanent makeup can be difficult to remove. Common techniques used for this are laser resurfacing, dermabrasion (physical or chemical exfoliation), and surgical removal.
